  • NEWS: PERSONAL MAIL THE OLD FASHIONED WAY; BY POST

26 September at 15:12 from atlas

It seems sending a letter in the mail/by post is considered a bit of a novelty these days. Australia Post has recently conducted a survey to find out if any of us still send personal mail/letters the traditional way; BY POST. The results showed in an average week that more than half of all people surveyed sent NONE. See the results of similar Australia Post surveys at https://conversation.auspost.com.au/national

With e-mails and e-cards and bills and statements available for download from websites, one of the only personal mail items that is still managing to survive is the humble invitation.

There's something exciting about going to the mail box to clear the usual pile of junk mail only to spy a shimmering envelope with your name beaming at you in a swirly font. You open the envelope more carefully than usual, as this piece of mail seems a bit special.

Inside is more shimmering card covered in embossed paper with your best friend's names on the front cover. Upon opening the card, of course; it's a wedding invitation. The most exciting piece of mail you've had since your favourite coffee brand sent out a free sample.

Help keep the novelty alive; and surprise someone with a bit of mail sent the old fashioned way; BY POST. It might be an invitation, a greeting card a small novelty gift or even have a bit of fun with a post card; even if you're not on holiday. (I personally, have confused many a family member with a random post card or two).

    KEEP POST ALIVE!
